Child labor, unsafe working conditions, discrimination. A responsible company avoids compliance with human rights violations. Governments, investors, employees and customers more and more expect this from a company.
Corporate Social Responsibility requires a sound human rights policy.
Training Human Rights and Business
This one-day training of Aim for human rights and Amnesty International helps to formulate a sound human rights policy for your company. You get answers to practical questions like:
- What are specific human rights responsibilities for companies?
- Which human rights dilemmas can I encounter and how can I deal with them?
- How do I guarantee compliance to international human rights standards by suppliers and business relations?
At the end of the day you have a practical workplan based on:
- The content and meaning of relevant rights;
- International human rights standards for companies;
- The importance of supply chain management;
- Methods to monitor and promote compliance to human rights.
Experiences of companies
Many companies have already participated in this one-day training.
Margreet Woei-A-Sioe - The Cookie Company
"During this training, tools are offered to assess the impact of companies on human rights in practice. The cases and short documentaries make the training interesting and varied. The group discussions provide insight into the issues other companies are faced with, and how they deal with them. I would recommend the training to companies that encounter human rights dilemmas."
