The Health Rights of Women Assessment Instrument (HeRWAI) now available in Indonesian

HeRWAI is a strategic tool to enhance lobbying activities for better implementation of women's health rights. A HeRWAI analysis links what actually happens with what should happen according to the human rights obligations of a country. "Instrumen Kajian Hak-Hak Kesehatan Perempuan", the Indonesian version of HeRWAI is now online. HeRWAI is also available in English and in Spanish.

Since the publication of the HeRWAI manual at the end of 2006, many organisations started using HeRWAI in their work. The organisations applied the tool among others to combat maternal mortality, to improve the situation of sex workers, to defend the right to maternal leave and to arrange better education on sexual and reproductive rights.

To facilitate the use of HeRWAI in Indonesia, this translation was realised with the support of HIVOS. This will hopefully increase the usage in the region and will make HeRWAI available for Indonesian civil society in general.
