The new name of HOM is Aim for human rights!
Aim for human rights supports organisations which fight for human rights all over the world. Local organisations are often the first to notice that human rights are violated and start to act. Aim for human rights helps these organisations. We do so via trainings, knowledge transfers and sometimes financial aid. This enables our partner organisations to do more for the human rights in their community.
Aim for human rights concentrates on the following themes:
- Women’s human rights
- Human rights and business
- Enforced disappearances
- Human rights in European policy
- Human rights impact assessment (HRIA)

Missing: children in Guatemala
Aim for human rights launches a campaign asking your attention for the disappeared children in Guatemala. During the civil war (1966-1996) thousands of children lost their parents. The children were kidnapped by soldiers or got separated while fleeing from violence. Only few were so fortunate to locate their family again. However, many children never saw them again. The Guatemalayan organisation Todos por el Reencuentro helps families with searching and reunites them. Since 1999 more than 150 often very emotional reunions were effected.
