Women's Rights - some progress, many gaps
The shadow report "Women's Rights - some progress, many gaps" describes Dutch legislation and policies with respect to women's rights. The report comments on the report of the government to the UN Comittee to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) on its compliance to women's rights in the years 2005-2008. The shadow report criticises amongst others (lack of) measures to combat violence against women, discrimination of women on the labour market and insufficient available facts and figures on the position of women in the Netherlands. The report has been published by the Dutch CEDAW Network (Netwerk VN-Vrouwenverdrag) of which Aim for human rights is secretariat. 54 Dutch organisations have signed the shadow report.
